Meet Your Guide, Lynda

The Original Banff & Area Hiking Guide

Say Hi

Over 20 Years of Expertise

It’s my mission to do more than give you confidence on your hikes; I want to help you and your family reconnect with nature and each other. As a mother of 2, I once struggled with finding hikes that were safe and fun for my family.

Many hiking guides are written by adults and can’t say what is easy or difficult for a child. But I use a rating system that includes a child’s perspective, so your hikes can include the whole family. I’ve been guiding family hikes for over 20 years, and my guide book has sold over 12,000 copies.

When you hike with Three Mountain Family Hikes, you can be confident that you’re getting the knowledge and experience to keep you safe and having fun.

Mission

To give families the knowledge, confidence and skills they need for a safe and enjoyable experience on the trails and connections that last a lifetime

Fun Facts

  • I have hiked every 10 km hike (and under!) in Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, Yoho, and Waterton Lakes National Parks. Of course, I’ve done some more than once, and I’ve also done some in the winter!
  • I’ve completed over 125 hikes in national parks!
  • In over 20 years of hiking, I’ve only ever seen 3 bears. In my own backyard, however, I’ve seen 6!
  • I once wore the same pair of hiking socks for 5 days in a row… I wanted to see if they would stink (they didn’t, but my boots sure did!)

We’ve Hiked Every Trail Under 10km!
